When Magnetic Babies Collide: A Radiant Interview w Justin Tranter of Semi Precious Weapons

I love Semi Precious Weapons music so much that when I listen to their new album Aviation I just wanna lay down on it, flap my arms and make angels. Aviation High is magical, Never Going Home is mesmerizing, Cherries On Ice makes me wanna get freaky with a pterodactyl BRRR BRRR. Free Booze should come with a skillet because that bitch cooks HAM. My favorite song is Healed which destroys my soul while simultaneously restoring it. Aviation soars, so BEAUTIFUL, full of feels and light. The vinyl came out for Record Store Day WITH a cd version and then the regular "release" ahhh release, is officially available today.

They were here last week for a private show in our Edge Music Lounge.

Justin Tranter SPW lead singer called in to swap dirty secrets, discuss his life, his music, his inspirations, & what the future holds for Semi Precious Weapons

(this poem comes up in the interview)

You do not have to be good.
You do not have to walk on your knees
For a hundred miles through the desert, repenting.
You only have to let the soft animal of your body
love what it loves.
Tell me about your despair, yours, and I will tell you mine.
Meanwhile the world goes on.
Meanwhile the sun and the clear pebbles of the rain
are moving across the landscapes,
over the prairies and the deep trees,
the mountains and the rivers.
Meanwhile the wild geese, high in the clean blue air,
are heading home again.
Whoever you are, no matter how lonely,
the world offers itself to your imagination,
calls to you like the wild geese, harsh and exciting --
over and over announcing your place
in the family of things.
~ Mary Oliver (Wild Geese)
