Enjoying some Hop Trapp with my new buddies from Lakewood Brewing!!!
I will never tire of having local brewers in the studio, and today was no different. Wim and Craig came in to tell me all about this new little baby brewery, and by baby, I mean BABY: it's only been open 5 WEEKS!
Speaking of, if you'd like to take a tour of this brand spanking new brewery, you can!
They have tours every Saturday from 12-3, where you get:
- 4 beers
- A Souveneir glass
- Musical acts playing live for ya
- Food trucks feeding you
Hell YES! Go to http://www.lakewoodbrewingcompany.com/ for more info on tours, the beers, where to find it in the city, and other stuff..... you know. ;)
Ok, on to the BEER:
The boys decided to let me try their Hop Trapp. (Yup, another Belgian IPA, DEAL WITH IT!!!) And holy smoke is this thing amazing. If you are sick of me drinking buttloads of IPA, do me a favor, DRINK THIS ONE. It is sooooo deliciously smooth and it doesn't kick you in the teeth like I know a lot of IPAs can. It also doesn't have the 'citrus coverup' (as I like to call it) that a bunch of other IPAs have. It simply lets the flavor do the talking, and has some subtle pine and floral notes (so I'm told) to balance out the hops. I SOOOO recommend this, it's not even funny. And I mentioned that it reminded me of the Pearl Jam Faithfull Ale-this is a BIG deal: as you can NOT get that beer in Texas AND that was one of 2 beers to warrant a 10 rating from me.
And now, the scores:
Vydra 9
Chad 8.5
Craig 10 (duh)
Wim 10
