Every once in a while, I want to go a little wayward, instead of trying a STRAIGHT craft beer, I like to just try a beer from another country, just see what others enjoy drinking. You never know what sort of tastes people have around the world. Good thing The Hubbeh plays volleyball with a dude from Brazil. He gave us a few Brazilian beers to try, and I decided to bring this one on the air for a go.
It's labeled 'Black Beer,' but don't let that scare you off. It actually drinks quite lite. Actually, if you want to look like a beer snob, order this. People will think you're downing some super thick stout really fast, when in fact, it's a super easy to drink beer.
You may notice some light hints of cinnamon, maybe coriander? I can't quite put my finger on it. Chad said raisin. Whatever it is, it's not an overpowering sweet taste. I wouldn't even say "sweet," it's just a light hint of flavoring that stays on your tongue a few seconds after you finish and gives a pleasant aftertaste. I'll be interested to know what you think it is.
And with that, here's the scores:
OH! And Dallas Beer Week starts tomorrow, details are here:
Vydra 7
Chad 6.5
