"Pathetic earthlings. Hurling your bodies out into the void, without the slightest inkling of who or what is out here. If you had known anything about the true nature of the universe, anything at all, you would've hidden from it in terror"
~Emperor Ming
I'm so excited about this being on the big screen I might faint on my innertube. I was in a terrible musical version of this once and my spaceship was an innertube heldup by glitter suspenders and powered Flinstones style...with my feet. Don't miss this brilliant chance to see Flash Gordon on the big screen again. There will be showings 1/3 - 1/6 at Texas Theatre
ROTTEN TOMATO REVIEWS:
This is like a drug-induced sexy fever dream of what the 80s had turned into for much of science fiction cinema...
a majestic spilled-cocaine imprint that's unmistakable and urges the film into distinctive areas of presentation George Lucas could never follow...
Laughably bad and fantastically good all at once...
Taken solely as a pop wedge of cheese, it's beautifully realized. As for the empty-headed dialogue and the puerile plot, isn't it obvious those are both part of the point?
