Muse have unveiled the trailer for their upcoming album, which seems to be titled "The 2nd Law." The trailer features a compilation of news footage over a musical backdrop, which begins as a classical piece in the style of tracks like "Butterflies & Hurricanes" before morphing into a full-on dub step track.

The trailer ends with the words "The 2nd Law" and "September 2012" being shown as the music fades out.

The news footage features an actress reciting lines that seem to be derived from the second law of thermodynamics. This is the study of energy and how it transfers between forms.

Reaction online has been mixed, with Twitter reaction ranging from, "I'm not going to judge the entire album on one to minute video, but I'm not optimistic," to "No seriously, this is sounding incredible. Once it got to the 1:30 point, I was about to have an aneurysm."

The new al bum with be the follow-up to 2009's "The Resistance" and has been recorded in London.
