HOW DO I SUBMIT MY BANDS MUSIC FOR THE LOCAL EDGE?
Send original songs preferably, but I also don’t mind hearing a good cover either.
Send your CDs, Vinyl, Cassette Tapes, Wax Cylinders here:

I don’t recommend sending a press kit. I also don’t recommend CDs with an unlabeled spine. Why? We don’t really have the space to organize that stuff well. I make stacks of everything at my desk, and look at the spines when I’m programming the show. If a CD-R is all you have, or a little cardboard slipcase, go ahead and send it, and I’ll do my best. Press kits are expensive! Don’t spend too much of your band $ on those. Slap them together when requested by a venue or whoever else you’re submitting to. You’d be heartbroken if you knew how often those things go in the trash at record labels and radio stations. For The Local Edge, put all your info on the CD and send it in. Spend the extra time/money on writing, recording, and mixing.

I promise I read all my emails, and I try so hard to write back as many people as possible....
WHAT KIND OF MUSIC ARE YOU LOOKING FOR?
Anything that is rock, or remotely resembles rock, or basically anything that's good. Classifying rock into various sub-genres makes my brain hurt. If it’s good and it rocks, I want to hear it. It can be alt-country, a cover or even comedy. And of course, I always have a little soft spot in my heart for some good alternative rock….
HOW DO YOU DECIDE WHAT TO PLAY ON THE LOCAL EDGE?
If it’s good, I’ll play it (as long as your band is from the DFW area). I will also try and email you when your song is going to be played on The Local Edge so you can tell all your friends/fans/family to listen.
WHAT QUALIFIES YOU TO BE THE ONE TO CHOOSE WHAT GOES ON THE LOCAL EDGE?
What qualifies anyone to say what should be played on the radio? Good music is good music. I’ve loved music all my life, and I’d like to think that I have a pretty good ear for stuff that others will dig. I have the utmost respect for the musician. I wish I was a better musician (you probably won't see my Oasis cover band for quite some time. We're called Not So Asis). The local music scene in Dallas is incredible, and I’ve been going to shows and supporting local bands for 10 years.
HOW LONG IS IT GONNA TAKE YOU TO LISTEN TO OUR STUFF?
I promise I will listen to EVERY submission that comes across my desk. I’ll try my best to keep up with them, but there is always the possibility that I’ll get behind a little. Trust me, your patience will pay off in the end.
WE WROTE YOU AND YOU DIDNT ANSWER. WHAT’S THE DEAL?
I’m usually pretty good about answering emails, but if for some reason I don’t answer you in a reasonable amount of time, holla back at me. Maybe your CD got lost in the mail. Maybe my email box was stuffed so full of rock that I didn’t get it.
WHAT CAN WE DO TO BUTTER YOU UP/PERSUADE YOU TO PLAY OUR STUFF?
Absolutely nothing. If you send me some face melting stuff, I’m gonna play it. Honestly, nothing is going to make me happier than to play your song on the radio and hopefully make you and your band famous someday. Local music needs a venue to be heard by the masses, and this is the only place you can get it. All you need to do is keep sending me great stuff to play.
